PREGNANCY

Why did the doctor check my cervix at 6 weeks?

This question has additional details. Close
I came in the doctors for a schduled ultrasound to rule out an eptopic pregnancy and the first thing my doctor did was check my cervix and pushed up against my stomach and then said "you definently feel pregnant" when we already knew I was. I felt it was very unneccesary if it was done to feel if I'm pregnant when we already knew that! Can anybody give me a suggestion on why he maybe did this?

Because very, very early in pregnancy, the cervix softens and it also changes color slightly. These are classic signs of very early pregnancy.
