Birthday party for child with cancer?

Email
This question has additional details. Close
I am in SERIOUS need of ideas. My daughter has been diagnosed with leukemia. She already spent christmas in the hospital. She needs a bone marrow transplant and was horrified when she thought she would have to spend her birthday in the hospital. But by pure luck, her bone marrow transplant is scheduled 2 days after her birthday. The only problem is, if her blood counts were to drop (they have before) she becomes neutropenic and can't leave the house. So anything that requires planning or reservations is out. Please please please give me some ideas! Anything! Even if you dont think it would work. She is going to turn 10

If she can't leave the house can others that you know aren't sick come to her? If so, what about planning a small girly sleep over party (if she's into that sort of thing)? Things like manicures, pedis, play make-up, simple foods she likes, movies, popcorn, cake. These are things that could be moved around on very short notice.
Sending positive thoughts and energy her way for a successful transplant!
